This isn't just an old story about someone who lived two thousand years ago. This is a living, breathing invitation — spoken directly to you, right now, wherever you are. Jesus didn't rescue you because you earned it. He didn't save you because you got it right. He did it because He loves you with a love that will not fail, will not quit, and will not let you go.
All He asks is that you believe and receive.

The problem runs deeper than bad choices. Scripture says every person is born spiritually separated from God — not just prone to failure, but fundamentally pointed away from Him (Romans 3:23). And that separation carries a consequence: death, spiritual and eternal (Romans 6:23). You are not simply someone who occasionally makes mistakes. You are someone whose nature is bent away from God. That is not a minor flaw. It is the very reason a Savior was necessary.
Turning from sin — what the Bible calls repentance — does not mean cleaning yourself up before coming to Jesus. It means a genuine change of direction: turning away from living on your own terms, and turning toward Jesus as Lord. Repentance is not a promise of sinless future behavior. It is a decision about who you are following (Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19). Jesus receives everyone who comes to Him with that honest, surrendered heart.

Your salvation is not maintained by performance. Every act of obedience that follows is a response to grace — not a payment for it. God, who began this good work in you, is the One who will carry it through to completion (Ephesians 2:8–9; Philippians 1:6).
